Manor Farm House Mundham

Manor Farmhouse is a fine example of a traditional flint and brick Sussex farmhouse. Over the years, it had suffered neglect and poor quality repairs and extensions and as a result was gloomy and in need of renovation.

Our brief was to improve the internal layout and create better interaction between the rooms, whilst letting more light into the house and maximising views over the garden.

The scheme provided additional accommodation in the form of a glazed garden room adjacent to the kitchen, a glazed kitchen extension and a new family room to replace an unsuccessful Victorian lean-to extension. There was also some redesign to the layout of the utility room and ground floor shower room.

The glazed extensions consisted of traditionally detailed painted timber casement windows, on facing brickwork plinths, with plain clay tiled and glazed roofs.
