New Builds

Thatchways West Wittering

As the original house on the site was in very poor condition, the owners decided that it should be replaced. It was a requirement of the local planning authority that the new house should be a contemporary interpretation of the Arts and Crafts style to reflect the character of the original house.

The owners also felt that the new house should suit its coastal location and wanted to include features such as a lookout tower and a veranda.

The tower accommodates the stairwell, and has wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

The materials incorporated kebony weather boarding, and clay tiles on the roof with copper gutters.
